Which are common anti-cracking measures for rock wool external insulation of external wall?



I. Connection types between insulating layer and structural layer as well as insulating layer and protective layer

At present, connection types of insulating layer, protective layer and structural layer have the following types: connecting rod bracket, inclined rod bracket, long bolt and adhesive. On one hand, steel wire mesh can strengthen the connection of structural layer with insulating layer and protective layer, on the other hand, it can disperse shrinkage stress and stress concentration of protective layer and facing layer so as to reach the purpose to reduce and prevent from cracks. In addition, the measure of partial setting of strengthened mesh shall be taken to the position where the wall is easy to occur cracks.

② Adopt micro-expansion anti-cracking mortar or polymer mortar with higher bond strength, small shrinkage strain and certain elasticity. Because the rock wool board has softer material, the thickness of anti-cracking mortar shall be 25mm~30mm.

③ Conduct blocking, seam leaving and achieve caulking waterproofing work to the protective layer so as to reduce shrinkage and temperature stress.

III. Solve well the weather resistance problems of protective layer and facing layer.

Two methods can be taken to solve well the weather resistance of protective layer and facing layer:

① Decorate facing brick outside of the protective layer, but this method increases self weight and cost of wall, moreover, it is feasible to the building with higher decorating requirements.

② Spray external wall coating with high elasticity and good weather resistance outside of the protective layer, because such coating not only has better elastoplasticity and waterproofing function, but also has better anti-cracking and weather resistance, it plays a protective effect to the protective layer and insulating layer.
